Echinoderms

Echinoderms are marine animals. There are about 6000 Echinoderms such as the starfish. Echinoderms is a greek name which means "spiny skin"

They don't have a heart, brain, or eyes, but brittle have light senses.
They are Plyum animals, they include animals like, starfish,sea urchins and sea cumbers.
Their sientific name is Echinodermatas.

Facts about an Echinoderms body

  • Star Fish vary in shape, from circular to pentagonal.
  • They can regenerate lost limbs, this becomes useful if they are attacked by a predator.
  • An Echinoderms body consists of 5 segments.
  • They are radially symmetric creatures, known to have the same segments that mirror.

1.Echinoderms are only able to survive in salt water.
2.If a sea cucumber gets put into fresh water, it would swell up and explode.
3.Echinoderms don't have blood in their bodies but it its replaced with its water vascular system instead.
4.Although they look like cute animals they are actually predators and a Starfishes tube feet are used to grab its prey.
5. An Echinoderm has no brain.
